The Niners is a great spot for Collie this season. Not only do the Niners have one of the best Quarterbacks in all of the NFL in Colin Kaepernick but there is a huge opportunity for Collie to play right away.
San Francisco’s starting Wide Receiver, Michael Crabtree blew out his achilles and is potentially out for the entire
2013 season. Then Mario Manningham, Crabtree’s backup is battling an ACL injury. Outside of Anquan Boldin, who San Francisco signed from Baltimore, the Niners don’t have many proven playmakers at wide out.
Signing with San Francisco gives Collie to play close to his hometown of El Dorado Hills. Collie was a star in the Northern California town, and of course then went on to be the all-time leader in receiving yards at BYU.
The 49ers first pre-season game is next Thursday, August 8th against the Denver Broncos.
