There has been rumors floating around this week that BYU’s star wide receiver, Cody Hoffman would be out for today’s game against Virginia.  Hoffman hasn’t been completely ruled out yet but the pre-season All-American candidate is a game-time decision.

If Hoffman is out, Mitch Mathews will get his first collegiate start.  The play of Mathews from fall camp has allowed BYU the flexibility to make sure Hoffman is 100%.  With games against Texas and rival Utah looming, it’s smart that BYU is being careful.

**UPDATE**: Cody Hoffman has been ruled OUT for today’s game against Virginia.
