BYU vs. Virginia: Live Gameday Thread

For all Cougar fans that weren’t able to make the trek to Charlottesville this Labor Day weekend, lets discuss todays game here.  Post your thoughts during the game in our comments section and lets get the conversation going throughout the 2013 BYU Football season.  This is the Lawless Republic Gameday Thread.

It has been 254 days since our beloved BYU Cougars last took the field in a meaningful football game.  We’ve waited long enough.  Now gameday is finally here.  Year nine of the Bronco era kicks off in Charlottesville as BYU takes on the Cavaliers of Virginia from the ACC for the first time in 13 years.

This is a huge opportunity for BYU to get off to a fast start in the 2013 season against a BCS opponent in a road environment on national television.

Lets get the conversation going throughout the game.

Welcome to the live gameday thread!

Here’s a live twitter feed of the @LawlessRepublic twitter feed. Also the LR staff is included. Tweet at them as well during the game.

Cody Hoffman out with hamstring injury. Huge loss.

Game-time decision right now. This gives Mitch Mathews a great opportunity to build on his great fall camp. Have a feeling this is going to be a lingering problem for Hoffman all throughout 2013 season.

Weather delay in Charlottesville. End of the 1st Quarter: BYU 0, Virginia 0.

    Quick impressions through 1 Quarter:
    - Uani Unga is a beast
    - Offensive Line is getting no push at line of scrimmage.
    - BYU seems afraid to throw the ball
    - Robertson Daniel with two PBU’s was nice surprise. He’s ready for the stage.
    - BYU is better than Virginia. The Wahoos have some good talent but BYU should win this game. Can they score and get it rolling for the next three quarters?
