Fansided Top 25 Week 2: How the Lawless Republic Staff Voted

Week 1 of the college football is in our rearview mirror.  A crazy week that it was.  Along with the AP and Coaches Poll, we also have the Fansided Top 25.  As voted on by the editors and staff members from each site across FansidedU, here’s how Week 2’s poll shapes up over at our national college football site, SaturdayBlitz.com.

Here’s how the Lawless Republic guys voted for the week 2 poll.  Rip us apart and send hate mail if you wish.

For reference, here was our pre-season ballots.

Thoughts:

– Clemson beat a very good Georgia squad in Death Valley.  But I was more impressed with Clemson’s ACC running mate, Florida State.  QB Jameis Winston is going to be a star.  Clemson and Florida State is going to be one for the ages this year as both look like National Championship contenders.

– Still not sold on the Pac-12 North teams in Oregon and Stanford.  Nicholls State eh Oregon?  Been afraid since LSU gave you a season opening beat down in 2011.

– Fresno State is the best non-BCS team through week one.  Boise State and BYU had terrible starts.

– My sleeper Heisman pick, Duke Johnson from Miami was the big-play running back everyone expected him to be this season during the Canes win over Florida Atlantic.  Now can he do the same against in-state rival Florida?

Robby’s Notes:

- Louisville and “Teddy Heisman” jump to #5 — Keep your eye on the Cards this year
- Florida State at #8 following a stellar performance from freshman QB Winston
– Michigan at #12 — despite weak CMU, the Wolverines looked explosive and crisp.
- Washington at #17 — The Huskies dominated a good Boise team in new Husky Stadium.
- Nebraska drops to #25 after sloppy win over Wyoming in Lincoln.
