There was a lot of concern leading up to Signing Day that linebacker Fred Warner would switch on his commitment to BYU and go to USC or Washington.
Both Steve Sarkisian and Chris Peteresen made strong pushes to sway the talented linebacker from San Marcos, CA.
Folks will instantly compare Warner to Kyle Van Noy. Plays the same position and is considered a playmaker. Warner is LDS, but his mission plans are currently unknown.
This just adds another feather in the cap of outside linebackers coach, Kelly Poppinga. BYU was the first to offer Warner out of high school. Poppinga continues to impress as one of BYU’s ace recruiters on the staff.
Warner is the highest rated recruit by Scout.com and Rivals.com in the 2014 signing day class.
