Three more games on BYU’s 2014 football schedule received kickoff times and TV info today.
BYU will host Houston on a nationally televised ESPN Thursday night broadcast at 7 p.m. (MT) on September 11th. Along with Houston, BYU will also play in-state rival Utah State on the world wide leader. BYU vs. Utah State will be in its traditional General Conference weekend Friday night slot at 8:15 p.m. on October 3rd.
The other game that was announced was the Savannah State game. BYU will play the Tigers on BYUtv at 1 p.m on senior day, Saturday, November 22nd. That game comes as no surprise. This is the fourth year of independence, and each season BYUtv’s one home broadcast has always been BYU’s FCS opponent. Hopefully we see BYUtv get the opportunity in future seasons to broadcast a game where BYU is taking on an FBS opponent. Would be good for the network.
BYU now has four games remaining on the 2014 schedule that don’t have TV or kickoff plans yet. Matt Sarzyniak, the man behind MattSarzSports.com, tweeted that the remaining four games will likely receive the 12-day selection treatment. Networks like ESPN will take a wait-and-see approach to those games. For example, if BYU and Cal are having good seasons you could see that season-finale get a ESPN2 slot.
BYU home games vs. UVA, NV & UNLV and game at Cal should have KO times set as 12 day selections. Time for game at UCF should be set soon.

All of BYU’s games are nationally televised networks so far. The five scheduled ESPN broadcasts for the Cougars is tops in College Football for the 2014 season as of today. A lot can change with the 12-day rule, but it’s great to see BYU getting primetime nationally televised spots.
