BYU Recruiting: David Lui Joins the 2015 Chosen Ones

The BYU Football program has been hosting their annual camps this week on campus. Many 2015 & 2016 recruits are visiting, and receiving official offers from Bronco Mendenhall and his staff.

Yesterday, BYU received a commitment from 2015 JUCO cornerback, Khari Vanderbilt; today the Cougars landed another commitment for the 2015 class.  This time it was a defensive lineman from California in David Lui.

Lui is a 6-3, 250-pound defensive tackle from Pittsburg, California (Northern California).  Will need to bulk up to play the defensive tackle position at the next level, but he has the body to grow.

Lui has received interest from a number of Pac-12 schools.  Lui is LDS and has plans to serve a mission before enrolling at BYU.

The 2015 recruiting class, or better known as the “Chosen Ones” by Personnel Director Geoff Martzen, now has six commitments with Lui in the fold.

All of BYU’s 2015 class is defensive players so far.  The focus is clear with the 2015 Chosen Ones, BYU doesn’t want to lose the hard-hitting, athletic defensive attitude they’ve built in the past few seasons.
