This Monday is the unofficial kickoff to the 2014 season with BYU Football Media Day taking place. At Media Day, BYU will hand out media guides to all the media members in attendance; which will be used as a reference book for the 2014 season. Media guides have changed a lot in the last few years at BYU.  The name of the book is no longer referred to as a “media guide”, it’s now called the BYU Football Almanac.  Along with a name change, the guides were no longer available to the general public.  Media Guides were looking destined to become distinct.  Luckily, BYU added every media guide dating back to 1946 on BYUCougars.com in PDF format.  A great historical resource for BYU fans everywhere. I’ve been someone who’s been reading media guides for years.  In the past it seemed like each year had a unique cover that stood out from previous seasons.  Nowadays it’s pretty much the same thing year-in and year-out.  Yeah there’s a glossy picture of a player posing in a football move but that doesn’t make for a cool media guide cover to me.  So what does make a good media guide cover?  Here’s my top 10 for best BYU Football Media Guide covers.
