Here’s a roundup of all information regarding Cody Hoffman and his time with the Redskins:
HogsHaven thinks the Redskins could give Hoffman a chance because he brings something they do not currently have – size. At 6’4″ he is by far the biggest target for Washington and his experience on special teams could be the deciding factor in making the final cut. However, right now Hoffman has not been working with the kickoff/punt return group. Ultimately, they predict Hoffman making the 53-man roster! (Fans agree)
Times Dispatch knocks Hoffman for his game. They say he plays well but is robotic, and in their opinion all of the best receivers are much smoother in their game. Maybe once he skies for a few balls with that tall frame, they won’t mind having a robot that catches everything thrown his way.
ESPN reported that the team went full speed, full contact Monday and Cody Hoffman popped off the helmet of teammate Ross Madison when Madison went for the tackle. It seems that practice got a little too aggressive by some players trying to prove a point to coaches.
CSN Washington said Coach Gruden has high praise for veteran Santana Moss but that in their opinion, an outstanding preseason by Hoffman could put Moss on the bubble for making the 53.
Initially, I predicted here that Hoffman would make the practice squad but as camp rolls on, it looks like he is turning heads enough that he could sneak into that last receiver spot this season.
Here’s to the Hoff making the cut!
