News broke on Twitter this afternoon that the Jacksonville Jaguars have waived former BYU running back Harvey Unga. Unga was picked up just last week and received an invite to training camp. Mark Long AP Sportswriter for covering the Florida Gators and the Jacksonville Jaguars was the first I saw to break the news.

It’s been an unfortunate run in the NFL for Unga. He has talent and has ability, but he just hasn’t been able to stick. It’s yet to be seen if he will get another shot in the league. If he doesn’t, let’s hope that he finds his way back to the BYU program somehow. A talent like Unga with ties to the Polynesian community is always helpful to have closely associated to the football program.
Best of luck, Harvey. Hopefully this isn’t the last we hear of you in the NFL.
