BYU Cougars In The NFL: Redskins Cut Cody Hoffman

Just an hour after news broke that the Jacksonville Jaguars officially waived Harvey Unga, news broke that the Washington Redskins have officially cut Cody Hoffman. Hoffman hadn’t seen much playing time in the Redskins previous preseason games and in the time that he did get he was less-than-impressive.

I don’t think that this will be the end for Hoffman unless he chooses for it to be the end. His college career was too good to not get at least a couple of shots. That said, he has a lot of work to do if he wants to stick on a professional team. He’s good at a lot of different things on the football field, but I don’t think that he’s great at any single one. If you want to stick on an NFL team, you need to have at least one skill that is so good that a team can’t live without it.

Rough day for Cougars in the NFL. Best of luck to Cody Hoffman.
