BYU football’s spring game/practice/scrimmage will be aired on BYUtv. Cougar fans outside of Utah are rejoicing.

At long last, BYU football fans worldwide will be able to watch the Cougars’ spring game.

BYU announced this week that it will be broadcasting the game – which takes place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 25 – on BYUtv.

It’s something fans have wanted for a long, long time. When BYU Athletic Director Tom Holmoe asked what fans wanted on Twitter, a ton of spring game related responses filled his notifications.

The man listened. And here we are.

BYU’s press release on Monday confirmed some of the details.

The practice/scrimmage/game/whatever you want to call it will be broadcast on BYUtv and on the IMG Cougar Sports Network. Coverage begins at 1 p.m. on March 25 and will feature interviews with the BYU football coaching staff and players, as well as commentary and analysis.

Kalani Sitake hasn’t confirmed what the day will entail, but typically the team runs individual drills and a 7-on-7 scrimmage before going 11-on-11.

For BYU football fans wanting to attend the events in Provo, stadium gates open at noon. Parking in the west, south and southeast lots is free and the west lot is open for tailgating at 8 a.m.

The Cougars will travel to St. George for a public practice session and Fan Fest on Friday. BYU wanted to make it south last year, but it didn’t work out.

After that, they’ll have about two weeks of practices remaining. The team will still work out, but the coaches won’t be allowed to run practices until the fall.
