In 2014, BYU football superstar Taysom Hill put a tangible exclamation point on the Cougars’ win over the Texas Longhorns.

Taysom Hill was getting Heisman Trophy buzz. BYU football was undefeated through four games. 2014 was a fun ride… until it all went south.

But before Hill suffered a season-ending leg injury in game five, he led the Cougars to Darrell K. Royal Memorial Stadium to face No. 25 Texas.

Hill and BYU football ran all over the Longhorns.

Taysom took 24 carries for 99 yards and three touchdowns, including an incredible 30-yard scamper that ended with an impressive hurdle.

It is a play that will live on in BYU lore forever. You can check it out below.

Hill completed 18-of-28 passes on the night for 181 yards as well, as the Cougars decimated Texas 41-7.

Jamaal Williams added 89 yards on 19 carries (4.7 ypc) and Adam Hine added 29 yards and two touchdowns. Jordan Leslie led the team in receiving, nabbing seven passes for 85 yards.

After this game, Taysom Hill and the Cougars started garnering national attention. There were questions of a potential undefeated season, a New Year’s Six appearance and Taysom Hill being a dark horse Heisman candidate.

Unfortunately for Hill and BYU football, those never came to fruition. Against Utah State Hill broke his leg, ending his season and the Cougars’ hopes. BYU would lose four straight games (Utah State, Central Florida, Nevada and Boise State).

Still, Hill was unreal against Texas, and needs to be applauded for his Herculean efforts.

Plus, it gave BYU fans an awesome catchphrase: HILL YEAH.
