With eight former BYU Football players on active NFL rosters, five of them saw game action in Week 7.

While NFL Week 7 isn’t completely in the books, it’s a wrap for all of the former BYU Football players in the pros.

Kyle Van Noy had a positive first for his career, while Taysom Hill had a negative one.

Fred Warner is continuing to build his case for Defensive Rookie of the Year, and one former Cougar is nearing a return from an injury that’s kept him out all season.

Here’s how all of the former Cougars fared this week.

Kyle Van Noy (New England Patriots)

Van Noy had a monster game in New England’s 38-31 win over Chicago. He scored his first career NFL touchdown by scooping up a blocked punt and taking it 30 yards into the end zone.

The former Cougar finished with six solo tackles as well, one of them for a loss.

Taysom Hill (New Orleans Saints)

Hill continued his Swiss Army Knife play, rushing six times for 35 yards, including two fourth-down conversions. He also had two solo tackles on special teams.

On the down side he did lose a fumble, his first NFL turnover.

Fred Warner (San Francisco 49ers)

Once again Warner led the 49ers in tackles, tallying nine total takedowns, five of them solo. He’s got 50 tackles on the season so far, second most among all rookies.

Michael Davis (Los Angeles Chargers)

For a second straight game, Davis saw time in the defensive rotation, finishing with two solo tackles in the Chargers’ 20-19 win over Tennessee in London.

John Denney (Miami Dolphins)

Denney continued his league-leading streak of consecutive games played in Miami’s 32-21 loss to Detroit.

Ezekiel Ansah (Detroit Lions)

Speaking of Detroit, Ziggy missed a sixth consecutive game with a shoulder injury. Once again he was a late scratch after limited practice during the week.

Daniel Sorensen (Kansas City Chiefs)

Sorensen is getting closer to a return for the Chiefs. While he’s been out for the entire season so far, he was spotted doing light warmups before Sunday’s game against Cincinnati.
