More Micah Simon

I’ve been on the Micah Simon bandwagon for a few weeks now – and on Saturday he showed why he deserves more playing time.

BYU football wants to establish the run and control the clock, but they still need receivers to create separation and catch the football.

Thus far, it hasn’t really happened.

One of the consistent exceptions to that has been Simon.

He hasn’t been on the field a ton, but whenever he has been, he’s made plays. Entering Saturday’s game against the Badgers, Simon had hauled in three passes. All three of them had moved the chains on third down.

Against Wisconsin, he came away with three catches for 60 yards, including a 50-yard bomb that set up a field goal in the second quarter.

On a team where no receivers seem particularly interested (or able) to really attack the football, the Cougars need to be utilizing Simon more.
