Remember Tayo Fabuluje?  The talented lineman from the state of Texas who signed with BYU as part of the infamous 2010 class that ranked in the Top 25 by many recruiting services that year.

Fabuluje spent one year at BYU in 2010, redshirting that season.  Initially came in as a Defensive Lineman, put came to BYU out of shape and coaches switched him to offensive line.

After Robert Anae and the offensive staff were let go after that season, Fabuluje left the program stating “personal reasons”.  Fabuluje’s motive was to be closer to his home in Arlington, Texas.  Tayo decided to transfer to Gary Patterson’s TCU program.

Fabuluje sat out the 2011 season due to NCAA transfer rules.  In 2012, Fabuluje started in 10 games at Left Tackle for the Horned Frogs earning Honorable Mention All-Big XII honors.

There have been rumors swirling over the weekend that Fabuluje, who left TCU due to personal reasons, -yes same reason behind his move at BYU- is looking to come back to Provo and possibly play for the Cougars in 2013.

Brett Richins from DeepShadesOfBlue.com said on Friday night that Fabuluje plans to enroll at BYU.  This is when the rumor started heating up.

After Day 1 of Fall Camp, members of the media asked Head Coach, Bronco Mendenhall if the rumors about Fabuluje were true.  Mendenhall said, he did not know anything about the situation.

Now Talo Steves from TotalBlueSports.com is confirming that Fabuluje is in fact applying at BYU.  But he hasn’t been released from TCU and Gary Patterson.

This is exciting news for a BYU program who brought in eight players this past off-season to improve the poor Offensive Line play from a year ago.  If Fabuluje gets released from his scholarship at TCU and he becomes eligible this season, he is an immediate starter on this new offensive line.

Possibly put Fabuluje at starting Left Tackle and switch Ryker Mathews over to the Right Side would be my initial thought if Fabuluje becomes eligible.

With the NCAA however, it could be a lengthy process.  So this could drag out awhile, but in the long run Fabuluje is an excellent addition to the program if Patterson pulls up his pants and decides to let Fabuluje move on.
