When it comes to having success in college football, teams need to have two things:

1. Balanced Schedule

2. Talented quarterback

BYU has both of those things this year, hence the reason many believe BYU could have a special season.  What about BYU’s opponents in 2014?  Who are the top signal-callers the Cougars will face this year?

Who the opposing quarterbacks are is another strong indicator of how a team will fare.  Remember the 2010 season?  BYU faced Washington’s Jake Locker, Florida State’s Christian Ponder, and Nevada’s Colin Kaepernick.  Not to mention, Air Force’s Tim Jefferson was smack dab in the middle of those three.  Facing those four quarterbacks was a big reason why BYU went 7-6 in 2010.

I don’t believe BYU will be facing three top 40 NFL Draft picks like they did in 2010, but this crop of QB’s has some underrated players that could surprise folks this year.
