The  BYU Rugby team is coming off an undefeated regular season.  A season that has seen the Cougars score a Collegiate Rugby record for points, 973 while only giving up 80 points.  Domination.  The Cougars have also been part of the first nationally televised Collegiate Rugby broadcast via BYU-TV earlier this year against Colorado State.  It’s been a special year to say the least for BYU Rugby.

The Cougars clinched a Wasatch Cup title after defeating Utah back in March at Rio Tinto Stadium, and the Cougars won the Western Conference Title to advance into the College Premier Division post-season, and will be hosting the Navy Midshipmen today at South Field at 1 p.m.

This post-season is an eight-team Playoff single-elimination that will culminate with a Championship game at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy on May 21st.

If the Cougars get past the Navy Midshipmen they will host the winner of Arkansas State-St. Mary’s next Saturday at South Field.  Time yet to be determined.

Tickets for today’s contest are $5 for non-students and $2 for Students.

BYU Rugby Alumni are going to participate in a post-game luncheon can we expect former Texas Tech Head Football Coach and former BYU Rugby player Mike Leach to be there?  Would be cool to see the Pirate there in attendance.
