Austin Collie

Free Agent | Wide Receiver

Years at BYU: 2004, 2007-2008

I know Collie hasn’t signed with an NFL team yet and is currently a Free Agent.  But he needs to be on this list because he will be in an NFL camp soon enough.

Collie was let go by his former team that drafted the Indianapolis Colts this past February.  Collie was waived based on the injuries and numerous concussions, not on lack of production.  In Collie’s four years with the Colts he had 1,845 yards and 16 Touchdowns.

In Collie’s second season with the Colts, he was leading the NFL in receiving yards through the first month of the season.  Then injuries derailed his season.

Collie is going to land with a team this season.  He’s too talented to pass up.  Many teams are concerned about the concussions, which is understandable.  Collie is so determined to play that he will sign a waiver stating he won’t sue if he suffers another concussion.

Collie has been targeted by the 49ers, Patriots, and most recently the New York Jets who worked out Collie this past Monday.
