2013 BYU Tailgating Plan

facebooktwitterreddit

As many of you know I have been working with the administration to improve tailgating at BYU, recently I spoke with Janae Pickard who is in charge of campus scheduling and therefore one of the people in charge of tailgating at BYU. She is fully behind the tailgating effort and is doing her part to help grow this tradition.

I made sure to share all of your thoughts and concerns about tailgating directly with her, hopefully many of those thoughts and suggestions can be implemented soon. If you would like to share your thoughts with her directly, please contact at scheduling@BYU.edu or at 801-422-7927.

Below are the tailgating policies for BYU’s RV lot, as well as the regulations for Lot 20 tailgating.

One of the biggest changes for this year is that rather than reserving parking spots for the entire season, RV parking will be scheduled on a GAME-BY-GAME basis starting on the Monday before each home football game.

TO RESERVE RV PARKING: (2201 N Canyon Rd, Provo, UT)

  • Contact BYU Campus Scheduling at 801-422-3134 no sooner than the Monday before each home game; parking spaces may be reserved for that week’s game only.
  • A license plate number and description of the RV are required when making reservations.
  • If your plans change and you will not be able to use your reserved space, please notify Campus Scheduling as soon as possible so the space can be made available to other fans.

RV PARKING POLICIES:

  • Vehicles with reservations may enter the RV lot no earlier than 6pm the day prior to the game and stay no later than noon the day following the game.
  • A maximum of two additional vehicles will be allowed to park in the RV lot with each reservation. Other additional vehicles must park in public parking areas.
  • Please park only in your reserved location. All vehicles and additional equipment must remain in marked stalls in order to keep access lanes open for emergency vehicles.
  • Please bring a copy of your confirmation with you as proof of scheduling.
  • Please clean up after yourselves. Dumpsters and recycling bins will be provided.
  • Personal flags, signs, banners, etc. may not be attached to any BYU fixtures or landscaping.
  • Propane or wood-pellet grills are allowed (no charcoal or wood fires).
  • No alcohol, tobacco, or illegal substances permitted on campus.
  • No fireworks.
  • No pets allowed on the premises; pets may be kept within the RVs.
  • A limited number of portable restrooms will be provided.
  • Please treat those around you and their property with courtesy and respect.

BYU Tailgate (Lot #20) Policies and Procedures (1691 North 600 East Street, Provo, Utah)
