As a freshman, Jacobson put up serious numbers. In fact, most BYU fans felt that upon his return home from his mission, that he would be able to fill the same role that Austin Collie played filled for BYU. The 3-star Texas product had flashes of brilliance sprinkled throughout his career, but also seemed to lead the team in, “Ugh, did that just happen” moments as well. Jacobson, while a serviceable player, never lived up to the hype left after his freshman season.
