Who replaces the third overall NFL Draft pick, Blake Bortles, at UCF? Sophomore Justin Holman is the favorite to answer that question heading into the fall. Holman played in three games last season. He’s the best fit for UCF’s pro-style attack that the Knights look to continue running as they strive to build on the national attention they received after finishing 12-1 with a Fiesta Bowl win over Baylor.
Holman will have to hold off local product Nick Patti who is eligible this season after transferring from Boise State. He is the one name who could knock Holman out of the starting gig.
Had UCF returned Bortles, the Knights would have been a pre-season top 10 this season, without him they are still a perennial top 25 team with all the skill position talent they have.
