Rick Stockstill has been consistent while coaching the Blue Raiders.  His MTSU teams have finished third or better in the conference six of the eight years he has been coach.  His teams have always shown well and he has shown loyalty to the university.  Before taking the head coaching job at MTSU, Stockstill had positional coaching stints at East Carolina, South Carolina, and Clemson.

Signature Win: Southern Mississippi, 2009

Stockstill’s best season as head coach was completed with a 42-32 victory over Southern Miss in the 2009 New Orleans Bowl.  MTSU came in winners of six straight games and needed to win the bowl game to get to ten wins.  Southern Miss got out to an early lead, but the Blue Raiders fought back and took control in the third quarter.
