In a surprising Week 2 twist, Daniel Sorensen was cut from the Kansas City Chiefs yesterday, September 9. Several other roster moves were made by the team on Tuesday.
This came as a surprise to most, as Sorensen seemed to have earned the backup safety spot behind Eric Berry and played well on special teams. Sorensen signed as an undrafted free agent this year.
If Sorensen clears waivers, he will be available for the Chiefs practice squad (which Hebron Fangupo was cut from yesterday as well) which is a possibility for him to stick around in the league.
The NFL can be brutal, and has not been kind to last year’s seniors from BYU. Let’s hope these players can find a home.
