5. Larry Krystkowiak

I’ve tried really hard not to like this guy, but he’s got everything that you’d want in a coach. He’s fiery, but not obnoxious. He gets the most out of his players. He’s fun to listen to in the media and he clearly runs the show on this basketball team. He’s got two guys (Poeltl and Wright) that are legitimate NBA prospects but he will pull them and sit them on the bench if they don’t play hard the same way he will a true freshman. Without saying too many good things about the enemy, this guy can flat out coach.

I’m anxious to see what kind of game plan he will dial up for this game. His team’s strengths are completely different than BYU’s strengths. The Runnin’ Utes are a hard-nosed defensive team and execute in the half court. They can play with some tempo but typically use a good chunk of the shot clock. Basically, take everything you know about BYU’s basketball team and Utah is the opposite. I’m very much looking forward to seeing Krystkowiak’s game plan and how he makes adjustments.
