BYU Football: Devin Mahina To Play In Reese’s Senior Bowl

Devin Mahina announced on his Twitter account that he has accepted an invitation to play in the Reese’s Senior Bowl on January 24, 2015. Mahina just finished playing in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl last week and had a good week of practice and a good showing during the game. His performance last week, coupled with his performance during his senior season at BYU, earned him an invitation to the Senior Bowl.

As of today, Mahina is the only BYU player to receive an invitation to play in this game. According to the Senior Bowl website, Mahina is the third tight end to be named to the South team joining Clive Walford from Miami and C.J. Uzomah from Auburn.

At 6’6″ and 255 lbs, Mahina has an NFL frame. It will be interesting to see if he can keep raising his draft stock as he goes against elevated competition in Mobile, Alabama this week. Not many have any BYU players projected to be selected in the 2015 NFL Draft, but Mahina is doing his best to change those projections.

Tune into the game at 2:00 PM MST  on Saturday to support your BYU Cougars trying to make their NFL dreams a reality.

Best of luck, Devin.
