This will be a little late, considering Signing Day isn’t until February. However, every BYU football fan should be excited to see head coach Kalani Sitake‘s first full recruiting class.

Sitake and his staff have a far different recruiting philosophy than that of Bronco Mendenhall and his staff. The results? Well, it’s still early, but Sitake seems to be a difference maker when it comes to snagging commits.

BYU football’s 2017 class has hardly taken its final shape, but it looks to be a good one.

The Cougars currently have 15 commits, five of which are 3-star recruits according to Rivals. Still, there are a number of big fish that remain to be hooked. After the departure of Mark Helfrich in Eugene, the Oregon Ducks have lost commits left and right. One of those commits – 3-star offensive lineman John Vaka – has already committed to the Cougars.

Another former Duck pledge to keep an eye on is Langi Tuifua, a 4-star defensive tackle. Tuifua decommited at the end of November, and BYU is one of a handful of schools he’s considering.

Regardless of who ends up coming to Provo next fall, there will be plenty of talent on the Cougars’ roster.
