The biggest star in the history of BYU basketball is back at it. Jimmer Fredette dropped 73 points in China. In a single game.

Let me tell you something, brother. Jimmermania will never die and Jimmermania is running wild.

For the first time since his BYU basketball days, James Taft Fredette went full-on Jimmer mode, dropping 73 points in a single game.

Fredette was selected with the No. 10 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft and spent time with five teams in four years.

Fredette then went to the NBA D-League’s Westchester Knicks in Nov. 2015 and went to work annihilating his competition.

He dropped 37 points in his D-League debut and was named to NBA D-League All Star East roster. He scored 35 points in the East victory.

After a cup of coffee with New York Knicks, Fredette signed with the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association in Aug. 2016.

He won the Chinese Basketball Association’s 3-point contest and is averaging 36 points per game (including 51 and 73 point outbursts).

Jimmer shot 25-of-49, 13-of-13 from the free throw line and 10-of-18 from 3-point range in his 73 point explosion.

He’s been able to dominate at every level… except for the NBA. Jimmer – for all he does well – can’t play defense well enough and tends to dominate the ball.

73 points in a single game is nothing to shake a stick at. Gilbert Arenas went 10-22 with Shanghai and Delonte West averaged 12.5 points per game with the Sharks before getting cut after a couple weeks.

Don’t hate. Just embrace the Jimmermania.
