BYU basketball has had an interesting year. One of the best wins in program history, with a handful of some of the worst in history.

BYU basketball. Boy, 2016-17 sure was… something.

On one hand, there’s a lot to be excited for. The Cougars are young, most are returning, and they were bit by the injury bug. So 2017-18 has potential to be a big year.

On the other, this season was plagued with bad loss after bad loss. With missed opportunities and excuses.

These are the five worst BYU basketball moments of 2016-17.

5. Blowing a 10-point lead against USC

The Cougars clashed with the USC Trojans at the Staples Center in Los Angeles in early December. They took control right off the tip, jumping out to a 12-2 lead and looking every bit in control. BYU basketball forced USC into rushed shots, but could never take advantage. Slowly, USC fought back and before you knew it, the Trojans had the lead. USC eventually won 91-84.
