Nick Emery: C+

Emery played in all 33 games, starting 32 of them while averaging 30.1 minutes per game.

Frankly, he was all over the place. Emery had 14 games with 10 points or less, and seven games with 20 points or more. In 18 games he shot 40 percent or better, while having 15 games where he shot less than 40 percent.

In BYU basketball’s losses, he shot 47-of-126 (37 percent). If you take out the game against UVU, where he dropped a career-high 39, his shooting percentage drops to 33 percent.

He was one of the worst perpetrators of the “hero ball” mentality, but there were positives. He’s feisty and fiery and was the best on-ball defender. The trouble was the Cougars either got bad Emery or good Emery. Rarely was he somewhere in the middle.
