Sam Boyd Stadium

Where: Las Vegas, Nevada

Capacity: 35,500

BYU football’s record vs. UNLV at Sam Boyd Stadium: 8-1

BYU football’s postseason record at Sam Boyd Stadium: 4-4

Sam Boyd Stadium has become a common venue on the Cougars schedule, with the team playing in five-consecutive Las Vegas Bowl games from 2005-09 beyond Mountain West meetings with UNLV and another bowl game appearance in 2015.

The Cougars are 3-3 in bowl game appearances and 1-1 in WAC Championship games (1996 and 1998) at the stadium.

Could this be the final game BYU plays at Sam Boyd? With the current contract expiring with this season’s game (which was rescheduled from 2015 to 2017) and possibilites for future games to played at the Raiders’ new stadium, it could be the end of a successful era for BYU in the desert.
