Green Bay Already Cut Two RBs

On Monday, May 1, the Packers severed ties with Christine Michael and Don Jackson. Green Bay had brought Michael in part way through last season, after he played in nine games with the Seattle Seahawks.

Jackson was signed as an undrafted free agent a year ago, but made the Packers roster after spending most of the season on the practice squad.

This opens things up for Williams in a big way.

Michael was expected to be the thunder to Ty Montgomery‘s lightening, but it never worked out that way.

Speaking of Montgomery, Green Bay head coach Mike McCarthy has already named him the starter.

However, most around the league don’t expect Montgomery to get a lion’s share of the carries. He’s a smaller back, and his value is more in pass catching.
