The ascension of TJ Haws

I’m not sure many Cougar fans appreciate just how good TJ was as a true freshman. He was the only freshman to make the WCC All-Conference First Team.

Most importantly, he got better and better as the season wore on. For example, in November Haws averaged 10.7 points, 2.6 assists on a paltry 35% shooting from the floor. Fast forward to February, where he averaged 14.8 points and 3.0 assists on a much improved 42% shooting. The Haws family work ethic is the stuff of Cougar legend. With that work ethic employed this off-season, we can fully expect TJ to take his game to the next level. Haws could very well be a WCC Player of the Year contender in 2017-18.
