Squally Canada

Oh, Canada!  Squally is ready to break out for BYU football.

The odds-on favorite to earn the most carries this season is no doubt Squally Canada.

Before coming to BYU by way of transfer from Washington State, Squally was a highly regarded recruit.  Rated as a 4-star prospect by ESPN, his list of offers included Colorado, Oregon State, Washington State, Boise State, and Houston.

We saw glimpses of what Squally can do last year, serving as Jamaal Williams’ back-up.  There were four games in particular where Squally saw meaningful action and displayed some real flashes of his ability:  Toledo (9 carries for 49 yards), at Michigan State (6 for 50), at Boise State (21 for 88), and at Cincinnati (9 for 41).

Canada finished his sophomore campaign with 74 carries for 315 yards (4.3 ypc) and 2 TD’s.  We can expect him to build off last season and have a strong junior year.
