BYU football has a big-time schedule this season. That makes things exciting… and dangerous for the Cougars.
Depending on who you are, BYU football’s 2017-18 is either very exciting, very intimidating, or a mixture of both.
With a little luck, the Cougars could be a potential New Year’s Six dark horse. On the flipside, another nine-win season also seems like a very real possibility.
There’s plenty of top competition that BYU football will be dealing with, and if the Cougars want to be successful, they’ll need to slow down these five players.
LSU RB Derrius Guice
You may not have heard of Guice, because Leonard Fournette stole a lot of the headlines from Baton Rouge. But Guice is the real deal.
Guice played in 12 games for LSU, starting in six while Fournette was dealing with injuries (and skipping out on the bowl game). All he did was lead the SEC in rushing with 1,387 yards. No big deal, right?
Guice will likely be in the Heisman conversation throughout the season, because of his big-play ability. He’s got 18 career scores, seven of them being 40+ yard scampers.
