BYU football: Takeaways from the Cougars’ Media Day
Cougars are way more comfortable in year two
It seems like the general consensus from players and coaches alike was that they’re more comfortable and confident now.
That makes a lot of sense. Last year everything was rushed. Sitake and his staff took over in December, and had to not only adjust to new jobs, but also had to move to Provo, learn the roster, etc.
Now, they can build off a productive 9-4 campaign. Sitake summed it up pretty well, telling the Salt Lake Tribune’s Jay Drew:
“I really feel good about our coaches,” Sitake said. “They’re all back, so there’s consistency there. I feel great about our players, too. We have a lot of experience returning and we have a lot of talent.”
The takeaways
Nothing to not like here. If the coaching staff could navigate to a 9-4 year while they were nervous, I can’t wait to see what they come up with while they’re feeling great.
