2009 and 2011

Class of 2009 transfer:

  • Andrew Eide (Unrated both Scout and Rivals)

Class of 2011 transfer:

  • Keyan Norman (Unrated both Scout and Rivals)

Because neither player was rated by either service, neither would have affected BYU’s recruiting rankings.

In 2009, BYU’s recruiting class was ranked 40th on Scout and 50th on Rivals, while in 2011 the Cougars placed 66th on Scout and 62nd on Rivals.

However, the two transfers that followed Ed Lamb from Cedar City to Provo prove that recruiting services aren’t perfect. Eide started all 13 games at left tackle for the Cougars last year, and earned himself a UFA contract with the Chargers this summer.

Norman still has a year left to contribute for BYU football. He started all 13 games at guard in 2016, and he’ll be right back in there as a starter in 2017.
