2017: BYU 79 – No. 1 Gonzaga 71

Despite the Spokesman Review already printing “Perfection!” papers before the game had ended, the Cougars once again knocked off the Zags. The Cougars had to claw back from a 16-point deficit, but eventually took a lead in the second half – marking the first time in 15 games that Gonzaga trailed in the final 20 minutes.

Gonzaga struggled from the charity stripe (16-29) and with ball security (16 turnovers), but rebounded nicely and made an appearance in the National Championship game.
