BYU football: The 10 best performances of the Independence era
No. 1: Kyle Van Noy vs San Deigo State (2012)
Before the Cougars knocked off Wyoming in last year’s Poinsettia Bowl, the last BYU bowl win came in 2012. And fans can thank KVN for it.
The Stats:
Van Noy posted eight tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a blocked kick in BYU’s 23-6 win over SDSU. He also scored two touchdowns.
What They Said:
Van Noy was quick to point out that it was a team effort, telling the San Diego Union Tribune:
“I wouldn’t make those plays if all 11 guys weren’t doing what they were doing. The ball just happened to land in my lap.”
