No. 10: Mitch Mathews vs Nevada (2014)

It was a loss for BYU football, which ultimately hurt Mitch’s ranking on this list. But regardless of the outcome of the game, there’s no denying how great Mathews was on this night.

The Stats:

Mathews caught 16 passes for 182 yards and two touchdowns, but the Cougars fell to Nevada at BYU’s Homecoming 42-35.

What They Said:

Christian Stewart said in a BYU press release following the game:

“Mitch played phenomenally. He was always open. I wasn’t always trying to go to him, but the situations we were in, he just happened to be the guy in those positions that I felt like would be open.”
