No. 7 Christian Stewart at Cal (2014)

The once unknown backup, who affectionately became known simply as “Stew,” put up one heck of stat line against future No. 1 overall NFL Draft pick Jared Goff. The win also sealed the Cougars’ second four-game winning streak of the season.

The Stats:

Stewart completed 23-of-38 passes for 433 yards and five touchdowns in BYU football’s 42-35 win the Golden Bears.

What They Said:

Mitch Mathews told Jay Drew of the Deseret News:

“Man, I think Christian can throw the ball. And that’s what we did, that’s what we turned to. I think every, single play we had on our script had a pass attached to it for him to use to be able to throw the ball. That’s how much confidence we have in him. We are winning games and we love to play with him.”
