No. 5: Cody Hoffman at New Mexico State (2012)

One of the best receivers in Cougar history went off against the New Mexico State Aggies, setting the record for receiving touchdowns in a single game.

The Stats:

Hoffman hauled in 12 passes for 182 yards (15.2 yards per catch) and five touchdowns in BYU football’s 50-14 blowout win over NMSU.

What They Said:

Then-BYU starting quarterback James Lark heaped praise upon Hoffman after the win, telling the Salt Lake Tribune:

“He’s a special player. They don’t come around very often. I wanted to take advantage of that. You put it anywhere near his hands, he’ll catch it.”
