Justen Smith

Position: K/P

Measurables: 6-foot-1, 160-pounds

Scout Ranking: 2-Stars

Smith plays for Brighton High School (UT). Last season he pinned opponents inside the 20-yard line on 13 of his 28 punts. Smith comes to BYU football as a preferred walk-on.

Oliver Nasilai

Position: LB

Measurables: 6-foot-1, 245-pounds

Scout Ranking: 3-Stars

Nasilai chose the Cougars over Oklahoma State and hails from Arkansas. His nickname is ‘The Punisher’ which is, quite frankly, totally awesome. His tape speaks for itself – he’s a hard-nosed and tough linebacker that likes to be right in the thick of things.

Brayden Cosper

Position: WR

Measurables: 6-foot-4, 200-pounds

Scout Ranking: 3-Stars

Cosper was ranked as Utah’s best receiver by Scout, and had offers from Air Force, Navy and Nevada. Utah and Boise State were also rumored to have interest in Cosper, but instead he’ll be coming to Provo. He’s not a burner, but he’s got good speed for his size. He’s also a crisp route runner.

Tysen Lewis

Position: OL

Measurables: 6-foot-5, 250-pounds

Scout Ranking: 2-Stars

Lewis selected BYU football over Utah State. He’s a mission-first kid, so he won’t be joining the program in Provo until 2020. Lewis was a member of the All-Region First Team last season at Weber High School (UT). Lewis went to BYU football’s summer camp in June and caught the attention of Mike Empey.

Austin Riggs

Position: LS

Measurables: 6-foot-5, 220-pounds

Scout Ranking: 2-Stars

Riggs – along with Cash Peterman – made a great impression at BYU’s summer camp. He’ll come to campus after his mission, so he’ll arrive in 2020.

Cash Peterman

Position: K/P

Measurables: 6-foot, 180-pounds

Scout Ranking: 2-Stars

Peterman plays at Chandler High School (AZ) and is a teammate of Gunner Romney. He averaged nearly 42 yards per punt and was named to the 4A All-Conference Team. Peterman is a preferred walk-on and mission-first recruit.
