Goal No. 2: Get one win against LSU/Wisconsin/Mississippi State

It seems clear going in that BYU’s three most challenging games this season (sans the Holy War) will be LSU, Wisconsin and at Mississippi State.

LSU and Wisconsin will likely be top 10 caliber opponents. Playing LSU in Houston should end up being the Cougars’ biggest test of the season. Wisconsin will be a big time test as well, but having the Badgers come to Provo could make things very interesting on September 16th.

Mississippi State will be a very difficult game in Starkville. The Bulldogs feature speed and a physical defense, and the return of star QB Nick Fitzgerald. They will likely be improved from the team that BYU beat in OT last season in Provo.

In truth, all I want as a fan is for BYU to win one of these three games. Winning two of them would be an incredible accomplishment, but not a realistic hope in my opinion.

However, BYU football definitely has what it takes to win at least one of these three tough games. These are spotlight games for the program, the Cougars need to win at lease one of them.
