BYU Football: The road map to 10 victories
Goal No. 4: Don’t allow any of the underdogs to pull off an upset
The rest of BYU football’s games this season will feature manageable opponents.
The Cougars will likely be the heavy favorite in all of these remaining games (Portland State, Utah State, East Carolina, San Jose State, Fresno State, UNLV, UMass, Hawaii).
Sure, some of these games are on the road and some of them will be trap games for BYU, but the Cougars will likely be strong favorites with Vegas in all of these contests. These will all be games that BYU should win.
If this program is going to take it to the next level, there can’t be any let down efforts against these types of opponents. They can’t allow any big upsets to occur.
So there you have it, four realistic goals for BYU football this season. If they achieve all four as outlined that would lead to an 11-2 regular season. I’ll admit, an 11-2 regular season seems out of reach, but I really don’t see why a 10-3 regular season is not a very attainable goal for this team.
As stated earlier, It’s high time for BYU football to return to the 10-win club. It’s high time to fight for a Top 25 finish in the polls. If they go 10-3 in the regular season and win their bowl game to finish 11-3, they will land in the final rankings.
This team will have the talent and experience, the coaching staff is firmly in place. Time to get it done, Cougars.
