BYU football: Jamaal Williams hilariously reacts to his Madden ratings

BYU football’s all-time leading rusher will be making his (official) video game debut next month in EA Sports Madden NFL 18.

As a BYU football fan, I’m really going to miss Jamaal Williams. And that’s not just because he was an animal on the field, but because he is a genuinely hilarious and fun-loving dude.

I got the chance to interview him on numerous occasions, and you can’t help but smile when you talk to him.

He’s easy to root for.

And, just like it always has, his personality took center stage in a YouTube video promoting Madden NFL 18.

Alongside other members of the 2017 NFL Draft class, Williams made predictions on his Madden ratings before game developers revealed the actual numbers.

“Ya’ll getting two dookies,” Williams says, slapping poo emojis on the whiteboard.

He thinks his truck rating and his overall rating are too low.

Williams had his overall rating at 86 – developers have him as a 73. J-Swag Daddy have himself an 89 in trucking, but the actual number is 74.

Obviously, all the rookies came in with numbers that were extremely high – but that’s the fun of it all. Luckily for BYU football’s all-time leading rusher, Madden updates player ratings every week – so he can control his destiny.

For comparison, the highest rated rookie in Madden NFL 19 is Cleveland Browns linebacker/defensive end Myles Garrett, who checks in at 83 overall. Tampa Bay tight end O.J. Howard is an 82. Leonard Fournette, Christian McCaffrey and Jamal Adams are all listed at 81.

Many college football fans are still disappointed EA Sports discontinued its popular NCAA Football series in 2013 amid a player payment/rights legal battle. But at least BYU football fanatics can use Williams in Madden, which is hitting store shelves in late August.
