BYU football: The wait is over, it’s time for answers

No. 5: Who will be catching the passes this year?
Wide receivers, tight ends, slot backs… BYU football has a slew of them. I’m most curious about who Tanner Mangum will throw to and how Ty Detmer effectively uses them.
Jonah Trinnaman, Talon Shumway, and Aleva Hifo seem to have the lead at receiver, but there are some talented guys right behind them. Micah Simon and Akile Davis lead that charge. The group is largely unproven, but they’re extremely athletic.
At tight end, Tanner Balderree and Hunter Marshall are back from last year. The addition of Moroni Laulu-Pututau and Matt Bushman make this position maybe the most exciting to watch. Each one does something well – so it may take a rotation for BYU football to get the production it wants.
In all honesty, I’m not concerned about great receiving stats this year. There are too many options for there not to be. I just want to know who its going be.
The good news for BYU football fans is this: Before long, we’ll have the answers to all of these questions.
