Game 5: Utah State

Worst Case Scenario: The Cougars come into this game beat up and just waiting for the final five games. Normally this would be seen as a trap game, however without really hopes of anything special, the Cougars come in just ready to play the Aggies. Tanner Mangum goes down with a leg injury in the third quarter. Beau Hoge is able to keep the Cougars from losing, but the team barely feels like it won.

Final Score 28-24 Win (2-3, not ranked)

Best Case Scenario: BYU football is focused on Boise State and Mississippi State already. Luckily, the Cougars are just too good to lose to the Aggies this year. The game is tied at halftime, but BYU refocuses for the second half. The game is closer than fans would like to see, but the Wagon Wheel stays in Provo.

Final Score 35-27 Win (4-1, ranked No. 14)

Game 6: Boise State

Worst Case Scenario: Tanner Mangum is out for the season. Beau Hoge is good, but unable to keep the Cougars in the game. The student section is only 2/3 full and by the fourth quarter is only 1/3 full. More injuries pile up and Boise State once again is put into the BCS discussion.

Final Score 35-17 Loss (2-4, not ranked)

Best Case Scenario: Having escaped Logan with a win and hungry after the loss to Wisconsin, BYU plays very well against Boise State. The Broncos come into the game being ranked, however do not look like a top 25 team as the Cougars seem to expose every weakness of the Broncos. BYU wins convincingly and the ROC section storms the field for the second time in 2017.

Final Score 42- 21 Win (5-1, ranked No. 12)
