Michael Davis

What has happened since the NFL Draft:

Michael Davis did not have a great senior year for the Cougars. Davis even admitted that going into his senior year he was not committed as he should have been. He did play well, however not well enough to be considered for the NFL draft. It was actually somewhat of a surprise when he was picked up by the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent. Since joining the team he has done well with pass coverage and reading the receivers routes.

Why he will make the team:

There is probably a 40 percent chance that Davis will make the final roster for the Chargers. He had a good first preseason game totaling five tackles and giving up no receiving touchdowns when in coverage.  In his second game, he only had one tackle, however again was solid on pass coverage when he was in the game. He runs a 4.4 second 40 yard and has the size to be a player in the NFL. If nothing else, the Chargers are known for taking a free agent every season over the last 20 years, and it appears that Davis could very likely be the player who gets signed.
