Who leads BYU in rushing against Portland State?

Nate: Squally Canada will likely start the game. KJ Hall or Kavika Fonua will likely finish it.

But I think Riley Burt will lead BYU football in rushing in week one. Canada hasn’t really separated himself as a true workhorse, so I expect him to – on most weeks – finish with 13-16 carries.

Burt is one heck of an athlete and he’s explosive to boot. I think Burt breaks one or two big runs against the Vikings. I could see him finishing with 90 yards on nine carries.

Josh: The battle between Squally Canada and Riley Burt will be an interesting one to watch, especially with the differences in style between them. Given BYU’s opponent, I’ll give the edge to Burt due to his strength.

Canada will find himself with holes to choose from, but Burt can really be difference maker in my opinion when it comes to adding four or five yards after contact or breaking tackles to extend a play.
